In November 2012, Neville Charlton along with Moya Swearing, past Key Club President of the Queens School, decided that with so much negativity going on in Jamaica, it would be good idea to form a youth group which focuses on volunteering and engaging young people from all walks of life. The aim of such a youth led group was to encourage young people to give of their service in their local community and Jamaica while encouraging them to LIVE, THINK, ACT POSITIVE, despite whatever situation they might be facing.  Thus “The Positive Organization” was born.

Since the company's inception in 2012, the organization has grown from just the founder and co-founder, to over sixty (60) members and growing. We have continued to tap into the vast source of youth volunteers, and have mobilized our members to be a part of various NGO's locally and internationally. Youths Inspiring Positive Change (JA) is a registered non-governmental organization focused on youth advocacy, empowerment and helping Jamaican youths to find themselves and their purpose in life

We strive for the “Positive upliftment” of all our members, and society on a whole. We are pushing forward positively with the aim of impacting others to become a part of this positive revolution.

Inspire. Motivate. Engage

"Youth development in any landscape has its challenges and successes, the Caribbean is no exception; volunteerism does play a key role in charting the course of youth development and understanding at its core the engine room of a country, the young people. Volunteerism is pure and comes from a good place, it’s a good vybe!"

Our Mission

The Positive Organization mission is to empower, encourage & energize Jamaicans to believe that they can make a positive change in society, and to provide valuable service through volunteerism.

“Be of service. Whether you make yourself available to a friend or co-worker, or you make time every month to do volunteer work, there is nothing that harvests more of a feeling of empowerment than being of service to someone in need.”

— Gillian Anderson
